Luke 11:13

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” The Holy Spirit is a gift given to us from the Father. He has been given to help us grow in Christ (John 16:14), to help us pray (Romans 8:26-27), to give us the power to witness (Acts 1:8), He also keeps us from fulfilling the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). I only listed some of the attributes to help us understand the importance of knowing Him as much as knowing Jesus. I am sure if you pray to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to help you dig into the word, you will discover many more. Every day when you rise, take a moment to ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit for the day and empower you to do His will. I witnessed a demonstration of what it means to let the Holy Spirit have you, as the teacher took a glass and put the water in it, he said this is having the Holy Spirit in us, he then dropped the glass into the pitcher of water (and it accidentally broke), he apologized for what happened, and I said that’s exactly what it is like for the Holy Spirit to have us. Keep the gift of the Holy Spirit close, letting Him have His way with us and I guarantee we will see Him come alive and give life to our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11).
