John 14:17

            “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you”. I want to take a moment to back up to verses 15 and 16, “If you love Me, keep My commandments”. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” We cannot deny some of the facts of the Bible, such as those conditions in which we receive things from the Father. One of those conditions is here and it is obvious. To receive the Spirit of Truth we need to love Jesus and keep His commandments. Many say they love Jesus, but it is in word only, and it shows in their life. They will tell you they know Jesus, but it’s only in their head and that doesn’t count. “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:3-4). A life of loving Jesus is proven by the way we live. Even those who are still being changed from glory to glory will be able to prove their love for Jesus. When we truly love Jesus and keep His commandments, we know the Spirit of Truth because He dwells with us and in us, and will reveal the truth in things we read and hear concerning our relationship with God and others.
