Deuteronomy 30:20a
“that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days.” Notice the four parts of our verse here: Love, Obey, Cling, and Life. Loving the Lord your God with all your heart will show up in your obeying His voice. His Word is His voice, and Jesus said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock” (Matthew 7:24). If you’re not in the Word daily, you won’t hear His voice or be able to do it. Faith is doing the Word of God, not just hearing it. The doers are the ones who cling to Him through obedience to His voice. Part four of our verse tells us why this is so important. He is your life and the length of your days. What are you clinging to?
