Leviticus 10:3

“This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy”. Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, were just consecrated as priests for the service of the Lord before Israel. But they didn’t take their position seriously and “each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord” (Leviticus 10:1-2). Moses was not allowed to enter the promised land because he didn’t present God holy in the eyes of the Israelites (Numbers 20:12). Jesus said to pray in this manner, “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name” (Matthew 6:9). Do you think if we Christians start taking our positions as God’s Children seriously, regarding God as holy, presenting Him to others as holy, and praying to Him as a holy God, that just maybe we can help others draw closer to Him because we have drawn closer to Him?
