Jeremiah 2:3a
“Israel was holiness to the Lord”. Do you remember when you came to Christ, praying for your salvation and the change it made in your life? He does: ‘Thus says the Lord: “I remember you, The kindness of your youth, The love of your betrothal, When you went after Me in the wilderness, In a land not sown” (Jeremiah 2:2). What’s changed? Have you gotten so comfortable in your relationship with Him that there is no more love; you’re just going through the motions, waiting for the day He will take you home? “We are saved by accepting Christ as our Savior; we are sanctified by accepting Christ as our Lord; we may do the first without doing the second” (Tozer on Christian Leadership August 29). As a fire without fuel or oxygen is dead, so is the soul without the Spirit. Do you have a desire to read the Word and spend time with God every day? Do you spend time in worship? Do you have any desire to go deeper in your faith, knowing there is more than where you’re at? Does your life reflect “holiness to the Lord”?
