Psalm 107:8

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” Is this another lost concept in the lives of todays Christian? We can say “oh not me”, but when was the last time you thanked the Lord for His wonderful works for you? None of us were born Christians, that’s why we use the term “Born Again”. I think back to my salvation and realize God did it all. I wasn’t looking for Him, He came looking for me, and through the nudging of His Holy Spirit I came to the right church at the right time and heard about His never-ending love for me. I wasn’t changed instantly like the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, but God never gave up on me and I am where I am because of Him. When God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, He gave them bread from Heaven, they ate angels’ food (Psalm 78:25), they didn’t give thanks to God for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men. In fact, they became discouraged “And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” I’m not where I thought I would be, but I look back and see what God has done and give Him thanks. I’ve been to the Red Sea with the enemy closing in, been through the desert and the wilderness, and my soul loves the bread He has given me. Can you look back and see the enemy destroyed, and looking to the promised land, or is your soul loathing the bread He has given you? Let us once again give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men, through His Word and in our lives, especially in front of the next generation!
