Hebrews 11:6

       “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” This verse speaks volumes to those who try to please God by doing things, but not for Him or His glory. Are you trying to get favor from God by doing things as a service to Him? Three words show up in this verse to help us understand what God is looking for from His children. The first word is “Faith”, and shows you the importance of coming to God the right way. You will never please God by doing things, whether they are good or not. It is only by faith that you can come to Him, and that by authentic faith, you will repent (totally turn away) from your sins and walk according to His Word. Second, the word “must” which binds you to Him as in a binding contract. Lastly is the word “diligently”, which tells you to investigate, searching Him out. There is also another word for “diligently” that I prefer more, and that is “crave”! Is your faith honest and sincere, as a binding contract that makes you crave more of Him? Does it show in your worship?
