Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Just as a two-edged sword will cut both ways, so does the living Word of God. It will convict and correct you, or it will condemn you. It is sharp enough to pierce even to the division of the thoughts and intents of the heart, which should help you “not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2), “because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be” (Romans 8:7). Now, with a renewed mind and the right thoughts and intents of the heart, you will live with truth if you train yourself in the Word of God. If you’re not in the Word, you may be walking a worldly life thinking you are right, or following other churchgoers doing things that may even appear spiritual. Does your life reflect a life lived in the Word of God?
