Revelation 18:4

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” This is a warning for those who are left behind after the rapture of the church. But we can take it to heart and begin now before it’s too late for us. Babylon is a picture of greed and materialism, just like the world today. If we don’t return to God with our whole heart, we may share in the sins of the world and receive the punishment with it. Jesus tells us, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24). Think of the Rapture of the Church for us, as us coming out of this world’s greed and materialism and following hard after God! It’s time to stop being “make believers” and start being “true believers”. In the words of Joshua, “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
