Revelation 3:5
“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” There are three parts to this verse that confirm our place in Eternity, with our Father! The white garment speaks of purity, and, as we are told in Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God”. This is key in why we are to “set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2). If we want to see God, we need to become pure in heart, our whole heart given fully to God with nothing held back or closed off to Him. The second thing is that our names will not be blotted out of the Book of Life. This is so crucial to being in Heaven because, anyone not found written in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15). Finally, “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33). “And he who wins souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30b). We are to be witnessing, acknowledging Christ who will in the end confess our name before His Father and before His angels. How cool is that?
