First would be the old life, a life lived in and for pleasure, self-centered and selfish. The words \u201cpassed away\u201d mean to \u201cneglect\u201d, which is what we should do with our old life. The \u201cOld Covenant\u201d was the law, or the Ten Commandments, which no man could fulfill for salvation. What else should have changed? Your thought life for one. We are told to, \u201cset your mind on things above, not on things on the earth\u201d (Colossians 3:2), \u201cand do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what&nbsp;<em>is<\/em> that good and acceptable and perfect will of God\u201d (Romans 12:2). Your thoughts should now be upward not inward, because you are being transformed from the inside out, not from the outside in. \u201cAll things become new\u201d, your worship to God should now be new and vibrant, and not worship to yourself or the world. Your words should not be degrading but edifying, and your walk should no longer be phony and in the dark when you\u2019re alone, but in truth, and shining a bright light for all to see.
