Matthew 6:33 Corrected Devotion

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things be added to you.”. So many times, I have read of the promises of God, telling us that we should memorize them. Reciting them is actually good when going through trials, tests and tribulations, but what are we told to do FIRST? Here is a God promise, and it comes on the back of what is our part in the promise. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and that’s the work we need to be doing. We are all called to be missionaries, but not all of us go overseas in foreign lands, we are to be missionaries here at home. Seeking to further the kingdom of God and shine His glory through our lives is all of our responsibility. Spreading the Gospel message, whether the listener turns to God or not, should be a priority in our lives. We also need His righteousness in our lives, which is Jesus Christ our Lord, to accomplish that work. I’ve seen firsthand people that say they are Christians but the words that come out of their mouths tell a different story. When I give my testimony, I don’t talk like I used to, I talk as if I were talking with God. We are to be clothed in His righteousness, shining His glory to lead others to Him.
