Ephesians 6:17a<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cAnd take the helmet of salvation\u201d. We saw last week the words \u201cAbove all\u201d which leads us to the parts of the armor of God that have a little more protection for us. Remember that we are putting on the \u201cArmor of God\u201d, not the armor of man. The verse starts with \u201cAnd\u201d which attaches it to the words \u201cAbove all\u201d and therefore of great importance in our protection. The helmet was worn to protect the head from injury or a fatal blow from the enemy with the sword. Our helmet is not for<\/em> salvation but of<\/em> salvation. Just as God is our shield and protects us from the fiery darts of the enemy, He is also the God of our salvation. Our enemy wants to attack us by discouraging us. Not seeing the answer to prayer for an unsaved, or sick family member. If he can discourage you, he can get you to become less interested in going to church and reading your Bible. He uses other weapons like telling you you\u2019re not good enough, you\u2019ll never make it, God doesn\u2019t love you anymore, you\u2019re a failure, and a host of other lies to drag you down. Keep up the fight \u201cFor the weapons of our warfare\u00a0are<\/em> not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,\u00a0casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ\u201d (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We bring the thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and He takes care of the rest. As we use our shield of faith along with our helmet of salvation, the enemy can\u2019t get into our heads or our hearts and we\u2019ll see the victory we have in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Ephesians 6:17a \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cAnd take the helmet of salvation\u201d.
