1 John 2:6
“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” You can say many things that are in the Bible and not be a Christian. When I hear someone say something spiritual or biblical trying to guide someone else, I say, if you know the Bible so well, why aren’t you doing it? Here in our verse today it is basically saying the same thing. If we say we are in Christ, or believers, or even say we are Christians, our walk should match our words. “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” (1 John 1:6). I would say this is the most important thing about being a true Christ follower. You don’t have to go stand on the street corner with a cross or a sign to show you are a Christian; you need to live your life that demonstrates your belief. I believe in the saying, “Live your life in such a way in front of non-believers, that when you do speak, they will listen”. Does your walk match your talk?
