1 Peter 1:15

“as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct”. Being fishers of men doesn’t just mean telling people things from the Bible or even that they need Jesus. Our actions speak louder than our words ever will. We are told in Colossians 4:5-6, “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” We not only represent the Father, we are to be like Him. His actions are righteous (Psalm 11:7), do your actions line up with the Word?  His thoughts are pure and good towards us (Jeremiah 29:11), do you only thank Him when things are going good for you? His judgments are in Truth, with full knowledge of the facts (Psalm 19:9), we are to take the plank out of our own eye before we try to take the speck out of our brother’s eye. His speech is Pure; nothing foul or degrading comes out of His mouth (Isaiah 30:21), is your speech seasoned with salt and edifying to others? His eyes cannot look upon sin (Habakkuk 1:13a), do you look upon (second looks or staring) or watch sinful things? These are steps to help us get closer to and look more like our Father. Then we can help guide others into the family. Do you have a burden to be holy and lead others?
