1Peter 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. Although verses 3,4, and 5 are all one sentence, I will cover one each week as separate devotions, but are all connected to the first part of the whole verse, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The phrase could be rendered, “adore the God and Father”, which is what we are to do as we grasp what He has done for us. By God’s grace, we have been saved through faith (Eph. 2:8), but it was because of His abundant mercy that changed many of us from a false hope that we were going to heaven, to now having a “living hope”. It wasn’t just the death of Jesus and the shedding of His cleansing blood, but the POWER of His resurrection that gives you this living hope. Now you are dead to this world’s order and are cleansed from sin and made right in the sight of God, to the praise and glory of His Holy Name! Praise GOD!
