Matthew 7:21a

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven”. When I started driving a truck there was no such thing as GPS, I used a road map. To use the map, I had to learn how to read it, find my destination, and follow the directions to get there. It didn’t do any good to have someone else tell me some directions for a seven-day journey and then fold up the map and drove around for a week and go back for directions again. That’s what many do with the Bible, come to Church and open their Bible to get directions, close them up, go their way for a week lost, and come back again. Jesus is more interested in us getting to know Him than in us doing things and saying they are for Him. In John 12:26 Jesus instructs serving Him, “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” According to His own words, Jesus said “If anyone serve Me, let him follow Me”. You can’t follow Jesus unless you’re using the Bible, just as I couldn’t get to my destination driving unless I used the map and followed the directions. Read Matthew 7:21b-23. Are you getting weekly directions or daily guidance to the kingdom of heaven?
