John 10:10b

       “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” It’s no secret that Jesus came to give us eternal life. It doesn’t have to start in Heaven, we can enjoy it here, but it’s not easy. We saw in a previous Devotion (November 20/24), that we live on a battlefield, not a playing field. Anytime you want to get farther or deeper in your Spiritual walk, the enemy will turn up the heat. One of the things Satan doesn’t want you to do is stop carrying your excess baggage, and “every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us” (Hebrews 12:1). You have to understand that when Jesus died and rose again, HE set you free. Free from sin, free from Satan’s authority over you, free from death. We are told, “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9). Satan doesn’t want you to get to that point. Now you know the truth, “and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32b). Study these verses, understand and believe these verses, start living these verses and you will start to experience that “abundant life” here and now.
