1 Timothy 6:12a

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life”. Church is not supposed to be like a sporting event on a playing field where you have members on the field, members on the sideline in case someone gets tired or hurt, and onlookers in the stands. I need to remind you we’re on a battlefield and there are no sidelines, but there are onlookers. Satan isn’t affected at all by those on the sidelines watching with the onlookers, he hates the ones on the battlefield fighting for everything God is and stands for. You also won’t become pure, righteous, and holy standing still and not engaging in the battle with the enemy of your mind and soul. Our Country wouldn’t be what it is if those who fought for our Freedom didn’t have any passion for what they were fighting for. You fight with a passion to win because of what you believe in! We are not only told to “fight the good fight”, but also to “lay hold on eternal life”. This is where you get that passion to fight the good fight because you are already living that eternal life knowing you have the victory in Christ and you’re not letting anything or anyone get in your way of remaining in that position. Trust me, the closer you get to God, the more intense the battle will get. Are you laying hold of eternal life and fighting the good fight on the battlefield or watching with the onlookers?
