John 1:9
“That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world”. Every person that ever was or ever will be born into this world has been given the Light. That word, “Light” comes from the Greek meaning to make manifest, or make one see. In John 14:6 we read, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. He is the Way, we follow Him, the Truth we believe in, and the Life that lives through us shining for all to see and desire Him. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). Paul gives the warning in Romans 1:18-20 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”. Do you shine to make others see and desire Him?
