Ephesians 6:17b

“and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God”. Going into battle without first being trained to fight is about as good as going without wearing any armor. Some well-meaning Christians do just that, they take a passage of Scripture and try to use it thinking they’re going to help someone but only scare them off. In the Garden of Eden when Satan tempted Eve, she used the sword the wrong way, Adam didn’t use it at all and they fell to the temptation, and sin was born. Some Christians take the Sword of the Spirit swinging it wildly cutting off people’s ears so they can’t hear, nor do they want to hear, the Word of God. The first part of training with the Sword of the Spirit is to be in the Word every day. Statistics show that only 11% of Christians read their Bible daily, 34% only once a week. No wonder the enemy is defeating Christians and they can’t quit practicing sin, they don’t practice using the weapon given to us to fight off the attacks. I wonder how much time Christians that don’t read their Bible daily, spend on social media? Let’s take up the sword of the Spirit and start training, we’re already in the battle!
