1Corinthians 6:17

       “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” I love this verse. It takes away any doubt that someone can say, “you can be in Christ and live in a sinful lifestyle”, especially a lifestyle of sexual immorality, YOU CANNOT.  It also throws out the theory of living a sinful lifestyle trusting grace to get you into heaven. We are told in Romans 13:14, that we should “put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts”, and in Ephesians 4:24 “that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” It is impossible to be one in spirit with the Lord and live in the flesh fulfilling its lusts. This is proven by our verse for today packed right between 1 Corinthians 16:15-16 which clearly tells us about our bodies and sexual immorality, “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh”, and verse 18, “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body”. There is a whole list of what sexual immorality is, but I will simplify it so there is no mistake on who is on the list of the“sexually immoral”. It is anyone that is not male, man, husband married to a female, woman, wife according to God’s Authority of Biblical marriage as shown by Jesus in Mark 10:6, “from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife”. What reason? God’s plan for sexual intimacy which is only between “male (man) and female (woman) and only as husband and wife. Anyone that is not in a BIBLICAL MARRIAGE is on that list of those who are sexually immoral, and the sexually immoral will not be in Heaven (Revelation 21:8). Are you joined to the Lord and one in spirit with Him?
