Jeremiah 20:9b

“But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones”.  Now that’s passion!  “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12).  Do you have the passion like Jeremiah where His Word is in your heart like a fire or is it too late and like many others, your love has grown cold?  I believe that is the problem with the Church today, the fire has just about gone out, and the love has grown cold. I’ve heard people witness to someone and it was more like a general conversation than a passion to see them saved.  Even some Pastors teach with such a lack of enthusiasm it’s a wonder anyone gets saved. We have the truth but no passion or enthusiasm.  Jesus told us “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).  We have a desire to do things for God or in His name, instead of doing what He told us to do. Is that loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind? The rest of the verse in Jeremiah 20:9 says, “I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.”  Do you have a passion like that, a passion burning like a fire and you just can’t hold it back?  A little spark and the fresh wind, or pouring out of the Holy Spirit in you, and you can start a fire that can’t be quenched.
