Psalm 99:9b

For the Lord our God is holy. It’s sad to see churches changing with the times, like God has gone soft. We are told, “He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God” (2 Samuel 23:3). “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7), and the messages preached should be built upon that concept. What is the fear of the Lord? “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil” (Proverbs 8:13). It doesn’t say to accept it because we are all sinners. We come to church because we are sinners, but we are there for transformation, to become holy as our Father in heaven is holy. We come as sinners, repent and turn away from our sins through the word, receive sinners that come, and help them turn away from theirs. This is why we are to have community groups, and men’s and women’s groups. Confess to one another, keep each other accountable, and use scripture to help each other grow. We need to stop using the word “struggle” and confess that we aren’t turning away from sin but choose to continue in it, just like you choose to be in the Word daily or just on Sunday when going to church. God is Holy! His Word is Holy and was given for us to become Holy. Isn’t it time to get back to God being HOLY, and living our lives reflecting His Holiness?
