John 19:30b

      “He said, “It is finished!”.”  We see two profound things here as Jesus made the way possible for all mankind to be reunited with the Holy God of creation. The first thing we see are the words, “He said”. Spoken words are powerful, but none as powerful as those spoken by God in creation. God didn’t have to build things, He spoke them into existence. Second, again we see the power of Words, as He, Jesus (God in the flesh) speaks, not as one dying and out of breath, but with a loud voice, “IT IS FINISHED”! What was finished? the finality of creation, in the Beginning when God said, “let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). For those who receive Him (John 1:12), we will finally be like our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will finally be eternal beings. You see, Good Friday really was GOOD, AMEN!
