Galatians 1:10
“Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” Being a people pleaser is looking like you have it all together and need the approval of others. We have to understand that a bondservant is one who gave up their life with all its passions and pleasures to serve their master, totally surrendered. Another verse from my favorite William McDowell song “I Give Myself Away”, puts it this way, “Take my heart, Take my life as a living sacrifice, all my dreams all my plans, Lord I place them in your hands, I give myself away”. That’s a bondservant and one who will “Enter by the narrow gate… Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13a & 14). If you seek to please men, you will be disappointed time and time again because you can’t please everybody. If you’re a bondservant you only have to please One, your Master. Are you a people pleaser or a Bond Servant of Christ?
