Romans 8:18

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” When you consider the outcome of this life on earth being salvation through faith by the Grace of God for those who receive Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior, this verse makes more sense.  Not only do we have salvation, “He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee” (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) and “in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:13b-14a). We have salvation that has been established, anointed, sealed, and guaranteed by the Spirit in us. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17). Therefore, whatever suffering we go through in this present time should not alarm us nor scare us in any way. Simply put, we suffer a little while here in exchange for an eternity of no trials, pain, suffering, sickness, or tears, just eternal peace, safety, and health with our Holy Father. I think that’s a fair exchange, don’t you?
