Psalm 34:9
“Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.” Let’s go back and look at a similar verse, Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” We really can’t say that the Lord is our shepherd unless we first submit to Him as the Lord of our life. If we haven’t submitted to Him, we try to use or control Him. That’s why it is so important to have proper fear because it shows us who our Lord is. Once we have this in proper perspective and prioritized correctly in our lives, then He becomes our shepherd. A shepherd feeds, waters, and protects the sheep. Now He is our Lord and shepherd, we won’t have wants because He is, and supplies, all we need, both physically and spiritually.
